Bro if you're going to do some rays that's up to you but don't post it on a site that is frequented by fish and game. That's asking for trouble. I understand if you didn't know but being told about there legal status then posting that you're doing it anyway isn't brilliant
This site is great and we need to keep it that way. If you want to break the law just keep it to yourself. Enjoy them because they're beautiful, not because you want to be an internet badass. It doesn't make you any cooler. That just makes the rest of us members look bad and taints the integrity of MFK.
Being covert can get you a long way in life if you're a rule bender. Being flagrant gets people caught every day.

Oh and there are dozens of threads on pond building on here, if you use the search thread you'll find all of the information you need in a quicker manner than waiting for people to write responses.
Peace

I think winter time is pretty cold. Water gets around 50 on my pond I have koi but cant keep other types in the winter I try to put some other kind but I see its too cold for them like arowana. Thy need higher temperature water. Summer time is ok cuz water gets around 80 but winter time u can only keep koi and turtles. I live here in san diego. Good luck

You can get inline heaters that work through your filtration circulation and run off of 20 amp circuits. Or go with submersibles. there's a thread in the stingray forum about all types of heaters. Search there you'll find it with links to purchase.
Sorry for being so harsh before. Don't want to see anybody get in any trouble
As for using spring water that is an artesion well on your property I would still have filter on input. I use river water and I go threw a bio filter with scribbles in it. And I have found horse hair parasites in the filter. I do not drain the water just to top off. So even though there can still be critters in the water. I treat the water ans extra salt that learned on a different site. It makes the worm tangle up in balls and throw them out.
