wow 7X3X3 is huge! ur lucky that u have so much space! you could probably fit at least 6 full grown rays in there. i would reconsider about the height though! if its only for rays then make it 2 feet high or even 1 foot high. its nice to look down on them all. plus its more practical if u need to get one out to sell.

they take about a year to mature, depneds on what u feed them and how much. i will start a new post on the menu of a ray soon.

temperature 75-82 F my tank is alwasy 81F the rays like it a warm but not hot! if u go over 85 u will hurt them!

i got my motoro form the store for about 200$ CAN. i dont live in the UK i can't help u there sorry.

That is what i was thinking about doing except it would have to be indoor in case of a raccoon.

you could keep it outside just use heavy weights on the top of the tank to keep animals out. also if its in a shed and the door is closed tightly nothing will get in!

don't know about tankmates , i might do it or not , if i was i would have lungfish, peacock bass, herichthys pearsei, geopghus, jur catfish , limas , marlbe, something like that one of those fish, probaly the lungfish.

alright, well that's totally up too u! im saying if you want to focus on rays only just don't make the tank to high! you'll thank me later! don't get Peco cat fish they like to give hickys to rays. also make sure everyones about the same size when u add them or someone is gonna get bullied! u gotta constanly watch when u first add new fish to the tak to make sure no one getting attacked.

i bought some tiger barbs to start my tank and then i added my ray eventually. the tiger barbs would gang up on the ray and bite it even though the ray was 10X the size of one tiger barb. just monitor everything at first, including the water quailty!!

and would i need to put sand or gravel now becasue could there stinger split the pond liner.

uhhhhh... i dunno if sand or gravel could prevent that! rays love to dig in the sand soo.... i don't want to give u bad advice. just be careful. i would reconsider the materials of this pond.

i wouldnt go above 4 rays in the pond, my tank is 8x3x2 so roughly 370 gallons, i have two fx5 filters and an overflow and im pushing the limits on them, rays produce a HUGE amount of waste, true hystrix rays i would assume would be around 500-600 US maybe more. IMO start off with motoros and then work your way up. Motoros tend to be the jackrabbits of the ray world
