Anyone ever use one of these for stingrays? Just wondering if they would chew a hole through it or tear it.

Yeah you can use that. Its perfect! Stingrays aren't going to be able to chew through it if you make sure there are no ripples in the liner.

Doesn't it get cold in Canada? You would need to insulate it too or it would cost a fortune and be a big problem in a power cut. Evaporation would be a big issue in a dry climate, only pure water evaporates so you have ever hardening water if not managed (plus a mouldy room)

You would need to protect the heaters or get them out of the pool.

I would pump out of the pool up to a pond filter as big as I could get and then let gravity return.

It would be better if boxed in and wrapped in insulation and celotex. Maybe make up a full or partial Perspex clear cover.

Lots of room for the rays though. Add a liner if you want extra security.

The pond would be indoors so weather would not be a factor. I'm moving and looking for a place to put all my rays while I set up the tanks again. It comes with a covered net, so I'm sure one could cover the tank with plastic to reduce evaporation or use a piece of plexiglass. I have 6 FX5 filters running now, so I would put all of them on the tank to keep my BF Bacteria alive. Insulating it would be a good idea if one was permanently setting it up.

I thought you meant this as a permanent pond. I guessed it would be indoors but unless your house is 80 degrees then it would benefit from insulation. If you have a power outage then heat loss would be fast. A generator or gas room heater would be vital.

You would be amazed what a lid would do, just try boiling 2 identical pans, one with a lid and one without they will boil at considerably different speeds.
