my 610 Gal tank is up and cycled I curently have 2 Jacks, 1 pleco and 1 fully rolled male Rec. stingray and am looking as stocking options I want 2-3 more rays. I really like Leo, black dimonds and Henlei. I think the size of the Henlei would work great, but all of these options are out of my price range. Im looking at around $500 per ray tops. I have saw some hybrids in that price range but am unfamilur with them. What would l be looking at as far as selling the pups if they mature and breed. Also any Plus or Min. to going with Hybrids. The other option would be to go with a male and female Motoro and I also want to get my Rec a girlfriend now that I have room. Would the larger rays pick on the smaller Rec.

I'm no expert but I'll share my experiences. Hybrids can be had for anywhere between 300-800+ depending on what they're mixed with. I have a henlei x Motoro that I paid under $300 for. I'm eyeing down a bd x marble motoro right now that's $500. Most black rays that are mated with marbles will be in the 400-700 range and are generally gorgeous Rays with awesome spots and patterns. I would also suggest marbles. I have 2. One breeding females that's currently pregnant from my male hybrid. And one male pup that I just picked up from mike at codiscus.

How big is the rec? I would say if he is 8in+ he would be fine with nearly all Rays except maybe for single aggressive specimen

Last time I measured him he was aroung 12inch but thats been a while ago but I think he has quit growing I have had him for 2 1/2 years. Do you have any issue with moving your hybrid pups. I just dont want to have pups that I cant find homes for. But I love to breed my fish

This will actually be my first liter of pups. So it will be rather new to me. But everyone I have seen put hybrid pups for sale they generally go pretty quick. Everyone wants blackies but not everyone can afford pure/high end black Rays. So hybrids seem to be at high demand.

with the rec being 12in I don't think you would have any issue with him and other Rays. Wouldn't put it past him to knock up any female you add with him either.

Aquascape has some nice hybrids for sale right now. Check his vendor page.

here in Asia.. hybrid rays are not as high demand as "pure" breed rays.

If your plan is to breed them.. its a good idea to stick to "pure" breed rays. Should be easier to sell the pups.. and u can predict how the pup looks like :)
Royal Marble Motoro might be a good one.. gorgeous rays. But not sure about the price in ur location.

Royal marble Motoro is just label so the seller can jack up the price. If you want high quality marbles talk to mike at central ohio discus he's a vendor here. Paid $250+75 shipping for my new male. His marbles are the best looking Iv ever seen. And they aren't labeled at royal. And the op states he can't afford pure bred blacks like myself. And I feel as if hybrids are in just the amount of demand here in the us as are pure breds because there is a higher amount of people who are not willing to spend $1000 on a single fish.

Op. I would stick with hybrids or high quality marbles. If you want pm me your number and Id be willing to talk you more in depth. As someone who just got back into Rays and has had multiple good experiences and seem to be im the same position as you.

Let me know

But between a hybrid and a motoro which would you pick I just can't pay 1000 or more for a ray after putting 10 in them a home

Depends. Do you want a black ray? IF its the black your after id find yourself a big spot hybrid. OR is it the pattern your after? In that case you could find a real nice black hybrid or a marble. All preference in the end. My next ray will be a black hybrid
