Hey everyone just observing my stingrays at night and I noticed from time to time they do this sneezing/gagging looking action. Like they curl up and looks like they want to gag or sneeze. Is this normal behavior or should i be worried about something? They don't do it always but I've seen it happened before. My parameters as of now is 0 ammo 0 nitrite 30ppm nitrate. Doing my water change tomorrow as my schedule routine for it is every Sundays.

Rays do that to get sticky sand off of their backs. Is the ray kind of arching its back and then just kinda slamming down? Because if it is, then that should be the cause.

Yes there is sand in the tank but I think i know what your thinking. It's not them kicking sand off of themselves as there is no sand on them but it looks similar to that.
Oh....maybe their just bored...I really have no idea...I was just going off of a video I saw on YouTube...

Ya I've caught it a couple times but not often. They are eating lots too...I wonder what it is. Maybe some expert on here would know.

Do they do it during/after feeding? I have caught my flower do something similar while eating larger night crawlers. Almost as if to help force it down.
