btw i was told that bec my rays were long turm that they should be fine. also i decided to take it safe, and put up a divider. I mean ive had this pair for a while and wouldnt want anyhting to happen to them, theyre just starting to reach maturity. Ill feed the retics heavily for a few weaks and then try again. Im also not sure if the ray went on a hunger strike or what. But she is up and about now 
also the motoro isnt aggresive its just he is alot more active and likes to completly cover my retcis. I dont think hes ever bitten one though.
covering can stress rays out... i watched my old female do this to a few small males and it really stressed them out... the whole time she covered she was trying to bite or biting them...
