OK, had a guy email me. He has a Marineland tank that he would like to trade me for a 150 gallon tank I have and dont need.

My tank is not wide enought to use for rays and well this is an extra tank and I really dont want to use it.

Anyway, his tank is 48" long, 36" wide and Im not sure how tall it is yet.
Im thinking of using it as a pup tank.
The tank is a retail Marineland plant tank. Its divided but dividers are able to come out since they are only siliconed in, so I can easily make a complete open tank out of it. Rt now its split into 4 sections, but if I get it, Ill change that and make it just one.

Tank has all plumbing and is set up for a sump. Its drilled in the bottom.
If you guys have ever seen a plant display tank at a pet store, its kinda like those...

Would you guys think that would make a good pup tank, or just keep it divided and use it as a angel breeding tank....

its 130 gallons,
tank and stand are one piece.
plumbing and electrical all under tank in stand.
No light, but Im not worried about that...

Looking to trade a 150 gallon long tank (no stand)and 50 bucks. Its predrilled with two overflows (one in each back corner..)

First pic is the tank Im thinking of getting... Just no sign, light over it and doors on stand..

Second and third is the tank Id be trading

they dont stay small for long =)

I know they dont stay small for very long, but being I have 10 rays, 5 that are about to the time for breeding, I figured Id make sure I had a good place for pups when my females do get preg and have them.
Im looking for two tanks at the moment.
One to hold the pups, and I also want to get another large 36" wide, 6 foot long tanks. Ive got rays that will need that size tank with-in 6 months, and I can move rays around when they start to get to the point they need bigger tanks. Planning ahead.

So was looking around and had a post looking for a large tank. This guy emailed me and I was thinking this would work for a pup tank. Just wanted to get responces from other ray owners and see what they thought.

i put my blue spotted in a 75 gallon for like 2 3 months when i took down my 180 to setup the 475. he was not very happy. but did ok for the time i had to use the small tank. so sure if can be done.

A 3'x4' footprint is plenty big for pups, and its already drilled for a sump. With a decent sized sump you could easily get another 50+ gallons of water volume.

Well I have a 40 gallon breeder that is set up as a sump already, but can easily get another if I need to. I wanted to see first the room I have under the tank before I figured out what was best under there..
