Stingray Tank Size question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Musha, I would say that will be a very nice tank. BUT, if you can swing it, you might want to consider 30" height. You can do a lot with 30" height in regards to keep various types of rays. Take in consideration though that the height could also impact the overall thickness of the acrylic so it could bump up your price. GL and please keep us posted!

Tank size for p14 that is good, they stay quite a bit smaller then motoros and leos.

Ok cool guys, I surely will keep you posted. Just know that everything I have been aquiring about is a year out. Im going to Afghan in Feb. I will pay for the tanks while Im deployed and drop a deposit on the rays as well. After I come back I will let the 2 tanks cycle for 2 months before adding fish due to the fact I will have a 2 week class upon return. My projects are as follows:

Stingray breeding tank: 96x48x24
Clown Loach Royal Pleco Tank: 120x48x30

Retirement Tank:
14fx5fx4f Hell yeah... but this is 4 years down the road.

24" is fine for the height. As others have suggested, I'd buy & learn from an adult pair of motoros first. But still keep in mind that it's hard for most hobbyists to even break even on breeding fish. Good luck w/the deployment.

i have a 600 gallon and love it for my rays.but if it was me i still go wider than 4 ft
seeing my female motoro that,s huge in there makes me want bigger.when she goes up the side her disc takes up a thrid of the glass top to bottom and that,s 30 inch high so i say do 30
my tank is 96by48by30high glass tank
