what temp does everyone keep their tanks at? i see alot of people keeping em in the mid to upper 80's, but why? just for accelerated growth? what harm could come from keeping em at 78-80f?

When I had mine I kept it at around 88-ish. Reason why is because I believe it reduces the chances of your fish getting any diseases. Also it increases their motabolism so I can power feed them more too. That is just my opinion though, and keeping it at 78-80 shouldn't be a problem too.

+/- 81 degrees. Gets a few degrees warmer during the really hot days in summer.
