Stingray with flagtail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept a flagtail with my rays with no problem. I had a 8 inch flagtail with 12 motoro and a 16'' marbled moto. it just varies with each fish. It wouldn't be worth it to me to risk loosing a ray to have a flagtail.

as a few people mentioned, it doesn't happen over a period of time where you can stop it. mine had no issues, then i wake up the next morning with the ray missing a LOT of skin. he is recovering now but.

I can't find this thread showing the damage done to the rays. Could someone point me to it?

I've had a pleco w/ my rays forever, never had an issue.

And I believe flagtails can either be kept single, or in a large group. however it's the 2-5 range where you have to worry about them attacking each other.

That's the thread I started when my ray had it's skin sucked off. It all happened over one night, so I wouldn't risk trying flagtails again with rays.
The ray is about 20cm across and the flagtail is only 12-13cm.
I had to section off the ray so she's not stressed by the other ray at feeding times and she's healing up nicely now.
