In The Jungle
My rays are all eating massivore finally but they tend to leave pieces here and there and often they get covered in sand while feeding and its impossible to sift all my sand with a net. Looking for something to do that for me and eat the food instead of me breaking up the pieces trying to grab them.

I don't necessarily over feed just have messy eaters.

Been considering a giraffe cat that a user here is selling. Its about 9.5" and my rays are 6" (she's agressive with food tho so I'm not too worried about her), 10" and 14".

Has anyone housed a giraffenose catfish with rays short term or long term? Please share ur experience

Why not a school or fish to eat a the little particles and pieces. Tin foil barbs or other. I would think the cat would want full size pellets and not eat all the little stuff.

Giraffe cat should work good. Those things eat a ton and poo a ton, so keep in mind the added bio load. I use a niger cat for my tank and now he's HUGE! He's about to head to the local public aquarium.

They get huge!!! Like 24 inches, and girthy. Thats the only reason I havent bought one. I have seen people house them together, If i remember correctly rapps has one with his ra in his personal tank.

I have the same problem with mine, I use 2 bigger striped Raphael Cats they are about 6 inches, rarely see them as they hide but they clean up at night, also picked up a jumper cat.

Grow those snails (forget what really called) that some call an ice cream cone. I imagine the ray will eat them, so have an extra tank going so you have a continual stock. They burrow during the day and keep substrate moving and eat everything except hair algae.

My Rays love snails... not sure that would work

Horrible idea. Malaysian Trumpet Snails (MTS) are a nuisance. Once you have them in your tank you will never get rid of them. Rays will eat the snails, but they will eventually reside in your sump and filters. I would go for something that cannot take down an entire massivore pellet and the rays won't be able to kill/catch. Tinfoil barbs are always a good choice until they get too big. Too small and your ray will make a meal out of them. Good luck!!

Yea barbs get pretty big and I'm not too crazy about the way they look when they do.
