i wouldn't put any type of turtle in with fish anyhow,i know it's been done but personally i wouldn't,all these species are great in separate aquariums/ponds though

wow triple post :D

the koi may work but forget the turtles

didn't mean to triple post! don't know what happened!

increase the temp and remove the turtles and you should be okay.... I would also do a flow through system (auto water changer) also feed the rays till they won't eat anymore...

I would devote one pond to the rays...., and the other pond to everything else. So, I guess that you would need another smallet pond for the turtles... and the fish could stay outside???

I had built the indoor pond to house some of the koi as my big pond is WAY overstocked. Guess it is time to sell some. (dang it, they are 16 years old - got them as 2 inch babies) I guess I could build another pond in the basement for the turtles. (I take unwanted turtles in as well as birds and guinea pigs) Or maybe I could figure out a way to make the neighbor want to sell his house, then I could buy it and put in a pool and another pond. Hmmm.... Hey then I would have more room for another sulcatta or 2!!
Thanks for all the tips. I have the pond up to heat and the koi seem to be doing fine. I will wait another week though just to be sure.

Temp is to low, need to be minium of 80. Also a 14" ray could eat 2-3 times as much food as your currently feeding right now. My 14-16" rays eat 25-30 night crawlers each day.

Id be concerned about the temp. Like Mikes said I wouldnt go any less then 80. Some times even warmer like the mid 80s is better as it will help to keep infections down.

Of course only you can determine if your water quality is good enough through testing. Remember...keep those nitrates low and ammonia and nitrite should of course be at zero~!

Turtles...why risk it?

Yep, working on new home for turtles. Pond is at 79-81 degrees. All balances are good. Just waiting for a week to make sure koi do ok with the heat.
OMG!! My rays look like round books as it is and now you say they should eat more??!! I'm gonna need another job....
