Stingrays and salt???

how much salt is safe for rays??
looked in the meds sticky could not find any info and help appreciated..

1 lb per 100 gallon is normal. For extreme cases (medicating), you can use up to 3-4 lbs per 100 gallon. Just do it gradually to reduce the shock

Also make sure and either pour it in a sump or dissolve in some water before adding it to the tank. It will burn there disk if they touch it.

And only use it if there is a genuine reason for doing it, rays do not need salt generally

I had bad results with salt in the past, I would avoid using salt as a medication. Maybe a pinch but that's about all I would use. I can't emphasize this enough. Salt is heavy and will settle to the bottom of a tank where they lie if improperly dissolved. This can kill your ray! If you must use salt in the tank then make sure it's fully dissolved in hot water before adding into the tank.
