Man youre diving in head first arent you?! Good luck, I hate to say it but youre gonna need it. A ray noob (or even seasoned ray keepers) is going to have a hard time keeping a tiger with the other aggressive rays you already have. Maybe you should slow down a little bit and think. Look at your posts from three or four weeks ago. Yes youve done your research which is more then what most people can say, but Id advise getting some first hand experience before you try the more sensitve/pricey rays. Nearly ALL ray keepers will KILL a ray or two before they get a good grip on things...

Do you have a tank in mind to house a 4ft disc Tiger ray? Maybe someone should post the pic T1 always shows. Best of luck with your search and your hobby

I appreciate the perspective that you put into your post. I've been keeping various water critters for quite some time, and as you've already said I've done my research. I've got my water changes automated (which was fairly easy because my water company doesn't use chloramine), and I've got a steady supply of food. I have contact with quite a few seasoned ray keepers (most of which are on this site), and I do spend quite a lot of time thinking about the steps I take before I take them. I was doing research for months before I even started talking to my LFS about ordering some. I've got some experience under my belt and am pretty passionate about what I am doing, and I don't see a reason not to take incremental steps closer to what I'm looking for.

I do appreciate your advice, and don't let this discourage you from trying to help me (or anyone else, for that matter) in the future. I think we can all use a little bit of good info every now and then, and thank you for looking out for me. In this particular case, however, I feel reasonably confident that I will be able to handle the change with no problems. If there is something you think I am missing, by all means let me know!

Anyhow, I suppose this is a WTB thread. WTB rays!

I love that pic! Thanks for finding it, ND. It will be exciting to care for such a big and beautiful ray. I feel like it is going to take some real looking to find her a good mate, but we'll take it one step at a time.

Just so nobody worries about us and the ray, we are already drawing up plans for a 10'x6'x2' pond. We already have a spot picked out when we have to move the bed.

ND, do male tiger rays go up for sale very often? We aren't looking just yet, but it can't hurt to ask.
