Use a circle hook. Rays constantly swim when on the hunt so most likely the ray will pick up the bait, swim off, and the circle hook will set its self in the fish's mouth.

By the way I hear ray tastes like scallops and the meat is ofter sold as scallops illegally.

Sorry for not knowing, but what's a circle hook?

Okay, sorry I can't edit my last post for some reason. But I just want to ask: so rays will take anchovies right?

We use Squid. If your lucky you get some Starfish This was about are biggest. lol

Nice catches, I would love to go fishing for sting rays one day... But I Live in the damn country and I'm to young to get my drivers license ( Lol, I'm 13 ) But here in Australia Sting rays are really common where I go fishing (normally gutters)... I've caught one about 5 inches in diameter. Took a while to get my crappy hook out, and i hooked myself violently in the finger, Blood was everywhere.

I got a pic of the scar... Its the purpely blotch on the index finger, the top one, I think it hit a nerve or something, lol it can't feel my skin there

ya i use squid. guitar fish are also a possibility. they fight well too, and also you may get a leo.
