Nothing you can do about the winter ,its going to come if you like it or not.So either you shut yourself down for 5-6 months out of the year or you learn how to ship in it.Shipping is risky no matter what time of year it is.
 
if anyone in wisc/chi is looking at picking some up..... Ill be heading down that way this weekend. I can bring some down with me if you want to save on shipping.

He just shipped a flower to me in 0 degree weather. No issues at all.:)
