@aclockworkorange - The tank came with a Rena xp3 but I also have a Fluval 305 from a previous tank. I was planning on using both unless you guys think I could get away with just one or the other.
As a little more information I sent this stock list to Gage and his main concern was the hartwegi. I guess I have heard that in general hartwegi do better in communities than other Vieja. But like all cichlids I know it will really depend on the fish. Does anybody else have much experience or knowledge about these guys as it is not easy to find info on them?
I am planning on getting them all as small as possible but didn't know if everyone thought that I should try to get them as all male? That way I don't have to worry about cross breeding.
it may be hard to get positive ID on small fish of sex.i would plan to get a few of each to get all males,also gives you choices with individuals personalities/compatibility.i would use both filters,you could start with one,then as they grow add increase to the adding the 2nd filter
