If you are still sure you will get a pond, why not put a Single LMB + pleco in there?

lot of options then, I would stay away from the larger cichlids like jags or Oscars unless to make them tank specific, my oscars in the 180, with a sun cat, gibby and a BKG fish and works out fine, but its a tall, 33", but the 145 is straight jag pair. they kill anything I put in the tank.

I like the idea for the sunfish tank. You could even add more if you wanted to.

I like the native option but don't know enough about them to comment on whether that stocking will work or not. Fairly sure that 180 is too small for 4 cichla, maybe 2 Kels and a lima catfish.
