Oohhh both seem to be interesting picks. Questions though...

How many silver dollars do you think i can put in that 40g. I know they grow up to 5"(?). Wouldn't they be a little skittish if I put only a few? And do they produce a lot of bioload?

And, are 8 tiger barbs + 8" sen okay in 40g? Too much? I'm guessing their not high bioload producers, are they?

I'm really tempted on getting another poly, but a bit unsure with the size tank having just one filter. And i know for sure I'm not gonna be able to upgrade anytime soon. Oh how i wish i can get more! Lol

Ohhh.. Are 3 ok? Wouldn't they get shy? I heard groups of 5 is preferable for community fish. And haha i might have trouble rehoming. I get so attached lol

I Guess just do the tiger barbs but they need to be in a group of more then 4.... if u don't want them getting nippy.

I'd say you could easily do 8 Tiger barbs (4 albino 4 Reg to mix it up or a couple green too!). It may be a 40Gal tank but you also have a 2217 Ehiem which is rated for up to 160Gallons....4x your water volume. I think you'd be safe pushing 12 tiger barbs TBH.

Careful with those barbs... The pet supermarket by my house some times puts tiger barbs on sale.... they look healthier than feeders.... so yeah my Senegal loves them.... just FYI.

I'll look at both of those breeds. Seems interesting. Might be a good addition to my seemingly empty tank. Sen is all alone. LOL I'll definitely watch out for them turning into a meal. I might just grow them out on a diff tank, and/or my petsmart has grown ones. Thanks for the input!

I was contemplating getting about 4-5 silver dollars for my 55gal, but then I saw they had tinfoils so I changed my mind, and because the MED size at petsmart was bite size for my del, if you can get some that are slightly larger I say go for the silver dollars they are amazing looking fish, or do like me and get a 3 pack of tinfoils!

They are neat schooling together. Like the three stooges lol
