Stocking 29 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
29 is a great tank to start with! You have a lot of options...What type of ecosystem do you want? A: A peaceful community of smaller fish B: A large aggressive fish C: Less fish than a peaceful tank that are still relatively small but somewhat aggressive?

I didn't assume you were planning on breeding them. When you get a group, there's always potential for them to pair off and get aggressive to the others.

General sentiment that better deals are on craigslist.

If you want a pleco in the 29, you're looking at some of the more expensive L-numbers that stay small, a rubbernose pleco, or a bristlenose.

I was in petco today and i saw a 29 gallon for about $115 and it came with everything but fish, gravel and water. It came with hood, lighting, filter, heater, etc.

There is a good possibility I am getting it =]

I was thinking of stocking ideas. I was thinking angles but I was not sure. I was not sure what else could go with them.

STOCKING IDEAS PLEASE

Have you considered a pair of fire mouths and some top swimming fish like zebra danios or platys, etc .

Fire mouths are great and interesting fish . They will stay on bottom of tank while the 'dither" fish swim the top
