You can widen your options by shopping online, know your local fellow hobbyists and clubs or arrange meets with hobbyists of online forums within your area.

i agree that is far too overstocked and the inhabitants wont all get along. brown knife gets too big for a 30g so take that off your list, leaf fish i guess would be ok, i doubt the peacock eel would do well with the rest, rubberlip pleco is good, and firemouth should be ok but you probably want a 55g
55 would be ok but 75 would be better

once again. Cannot get a 55 gallon. 30 is the best i can do. Ive researched a lot into South American Puffers and it seems as though one would work with a 30 gallon with:

1. Rubber lip pleco
2. Leopard ctenopoma
3. Peacock eel
I think this setup would work well considering SAP are known to stay small, pure freshwater only, and should little aggression compared to other puffer species. Only problem is, i dont know where i can get one.

Your recent post would make fine stocking. Might I reccomend avoiding puffers, they enjoy killing fish by eating their fins.

I would do this:

Rubber lip 6"
Peacock eel 8"
Ctenopoma 7"

That tank is relatively well stocked, though you could have another 5" or so fish if you have live plants and good filtration.

well I really love puffers. And ive researched it quite a bit reading that South American Puffers or otherewise known as Amazon Puffers tend to do well with other species. Yes they do nip fins every now and then, and at times during feeding, but ive read a lot of success in keeping them with non puffer species so I would really enjoy having one. And about maintenance, i will greatly put in the effort to keep the tank clean. The onnly problem is...... i cant find a South American Puffer!!!!!

If you are so adamant about keeping the time bomb that is an amazon puff, I would keep the ctenopoma out.

Ask questions regarding compatibility and tank size in the Puffer forum. You may get some good answers to verify your researches. I know Jenni (Pufferpunk) may be able to help you there. Good luck.
