Hi everybody!I finally got my 412gal :headbang2 It's still cycling. The current fish I have in a separate setup are:
40" Zebra Moray - Maverick
18" Tesselated Moray - Goose

But they are going into the new setup once it's cycled.Firstly, what clean up crew can I add?
Also concerning fish I want to add:
2 Volitan Lions
1 Radiata Lion
1 Foxface
1 Banded Bamboo Shark
1 Snowflake Moray
Maybe a Panther Grouper

Could these guys work together? Also is this overstocked?

Thanks :D

Tessy will grow to 6' and kill most of these fish. Should be a species tank only. Trust me I wanted one for my 240 and did lots of research.

Shark gets like 3' and will be clumsy, with the foxface and that many lions expect him to be stung and possibly to death.

Radiata is hard to feed ( I owned one before). With that many predators it may be tough to get food to him.

Take your time and consider a mix of predator but less KILLER SIZED fish and you can have an awesome tank of large semi-Agressive show sized fish and eels in that size tank. But going for the biggest and meanest will mean nothing but $$ wasted and lots of stress for you.

Just trying to help, hope this is not slamming.

Go large without som of the agression...Large Angels, Large Tangs, Schools of smaller/Med size fish, you could still do multiple lions and several large eels.

Here is my 240g stock list...I had to remove a Minatus Grouper because he was too agressive.

Volitan Lionfish
Yellow Tang
Australian Harlequin Tusk
Queen Angel
Maroon Clowns
Blond Naso Tang
Snowflake Moray Eel
Goldentail Moray Eel - Yellow Morph

I might through in:
Niger Trigger
Flame Angel
Threadfin Butterfly
and some Damsels later on.

This is a lot of activity, color, and some semi aggresion.

Ok what if I could sell the tessy?I really love my zebra moray and don't want to get rid of him. Also wont the lions eat the maroon clown? How about:

2x Volitan Lionfish
3x Yellow Tang
2x Maroon Clowns
Blond Naso Tang
2x Snowflake Moray Eel
2x Zebra Moray
1x Marine Betta
1x Foxface

Even though a shark would be really nice but I wouldn't want it to get stung. :(
And then what a bout a cleaning crew? Can I add turbo snails or something in that line?

First off, that Zebra Moray is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

I absolutely agree with 95Harley 100%. Out of the Gymnothorax genus, the favagineus is by far my favorive but I passed on him because of the same reasons Harley did...I wanted other fish in the tank. :D

If you get the clowns big enough the volitans won't bother them. I've had more problems with my volitan eating inverts than small fish. He tends to give up on any of the fast swimming fish, and with a series of other "dithers" in there, the clowns will just be forgotten.

Are you growing any sort of micro/macro algae? I would just make sure you add the Naso Tang once you have enough material for them to graze on. Granted you will be supplying them with food, but they constantly graze on algae in the wild and if they don't get enough vegetable matter in their diet you will see lateral line errosion pretty quickly.

I would think you would be fine with that list of fish. I would add a Harlequin Tusk though...you won't be dissapointed. As far as a clean up crew, that could be kind of tough with those guys. I've had luck with brittle stars and BIG Turbo Snails (best common name ever!!). Every once and a while I have to replace one because it goes "missing", but it's not that often.

Oh yeah...what kind of lighting are you using?

Don't forget to post some pics once that bad boy is up and running...that should look pretty sweet. :headbang2

What could I use as dither fish? Also I guess a panther grouper is out of the question?Even though they are stunning fish!

Technically a dither fish is any fish that is constantly moving, so your tangs would be pretty close to dither fish.

I use mainly black damsels in my tank. They are quick enough to avoid predation, they can hold their own, and have nice colors. They will change to black when full adults, however I have one that is about 5"-5.5" and he still has the color patern below.

Oh yeah, about the Panther Gouper. As far as aggression goes he would be fine...they are very rarely aggressive. The only problem with them is that they will eat absolutely anything that fits in their mouths. Plus, you're looking at a HUGE predator. Your tank is plenty big for one, but some of those guys may be lunch...like the comet and clownfish especially, and factor in that the average SF is only 30" or so...a big grouper could even take down an adult SF.
