Stocking 412gal Eel Setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was thinking about giving the SF a mis and maybe then having 2-4 zebra morays instead. Also is it true that large angels and lionfish don't mix?The tessy will def go back to the lfs and I will probably use either the tangs or damsels as dither fish, depending on if I can find a panther grouper. Also depending on the grouper is the clowns and marine betta. Also thinking about dropping the foxface idea and going for a bamboo shark.
New list idea:
Naso Tang
3x Yellow Tang
2x Lionfish
4x Zebra Moray
1x Panther Grouper
1x Banded Bamboo shark

Would love to get an asfur angel but that depends on if they can mix with lions.
What do you think?

i would ditch the shark and i'm not too sure about mixing multiple eels, i've heard some pretty nasty stories, but i'll leave that to someone who's had more then one.

to the best of my knowlege angels can be mixed with lions

I think the eels will be ok together if I give them enough hiding places.I've seen lots of eels kept together in aquariums.Even though those were larger setups they also had a large amount of eels.

that may be true but i've seen to tesses in the same tank for years and then one just up and rips the other to shredds.

I think you would be fine with the angel/lion mix. I've never had any issues with mixing them. I think you could get away with mixing the morays because zebras are very secretive and as long as you have a lot or rock work you should be fine.

If you're looking for a shark that is not as dependant on open swimming area, an Epaulette shark would work well too.

Same here. The tessy is going back to the LFS though...I brought the same thin up earlier. Great minds think alike.:D

good luck! The tess will eventually kill or eat EVERYTHING that you have mentioned, including the sharks if it gets hungry enough.
