i have a 75G tank that currently has a clown knife(getting rid of)a senegal bichir and a baby jardini arowana. i was re-thinking my decision on getting the jardini since it won't last him forever. i am getting 2 more senegals for sure and was wondering about what fish i could get that would roam the middle to top region of my tank? i was thinking on maybe some discus since bichirs can handle wide ranges of water parameters, but i'm not sure...

I've talked to very few people who have kept Discus with tankmates with success... and have talked to many who have tried it with little to no success... I've never tried...

I would avoid keeping large mouthed fish with a Birch, such as Oscars, for the Birches protection... and I would avoid smaller Cichlids such as Convicts, for the smaller Cichlids protection.

But this leaves a very large range of medium sized Cichlids to choose from. Dempseys, Severums, GTs for some of the commonly available choices. But honestly your options are far too vast to try to list them...

What are some medium sized Cichlids you are interested in that you haven't kept yet?
