alright finally got my 125 ready about to start a cycle next week it is going to be a FOWLR for my sw predators just thinking about what i am going to add to the tank heres a list of fish i would love to have in there my question is wich couple of these can i stock the 125 without over stocking it this is from what i want most to what i want least i deffinatly want the first one(i am aware in a year or two i will need to upgrade it to a bigger tank by then i will have a bigger tank for him)

emporer angel
zebra moray
miantus grouper
picasso trigger
volitan lion
harlequin tusk

so far thats all i got any suggestions on what to mix??

sounds like a bit much especially the angel. and triggers and angels usually nip at lion fins anyway..

i'd decide which you want more the lion or the trigger/angel, and leave the other out..

otherwise.. pending filtration sounds good

well im not talking a bout putting them all in there im saying what can i fit without overstocking..i did the list from what i want most to what i want least i would deff pick the angel and trigger over the lion anyday tho thanks for the help

the other problem with the emperor specifically.. is they get pretty damn big.. right around 2''
i've heard people say they'll never keep them in less than 200

though im sure a 180 or even a 150 wide would be enough.

for a long time he'll be fine in there but i'd honestly consider getting a smaller species or a larger tank..

well for the angel i fig it will take a year or two to outgrow...i have a 300 gal but not set up because i rent....within the next year i am going to by a house so i dont wanna hook up the 300 gal then have to move it in a couple months ya no
so as far as stocking can i fit the emporer juvy/mid adult, picasso and zebra moray(or snowflake) and is it stocked? or maybe a juvy miniatus grouper with that till it outgrows(if it does not sure min tank size for them) thanks bg ur altta help with the questions i post up on here i apreciate it

alot of places say alot of dumb things..

liveaquaria says you can keep a 4 foot catshark in a 180.. so don't trust everything you read

if you could, i'd wait out on the grouper.. when you move the fish over to the 300 it's like starting a blank slate and any added fish would be not so agressively taken to.. you may even want to hold out for the more agressive fish untill you can get the 300, and keep the more 'peaceful' ones now.. the eel, gouper etc.

well the point of buying the 125 was to keep my predators in till i get the money and the house to store them in my 300 then eventually when i do that i will take my 75 gal reef and transfer it to the 125 ....so i will hook this 125 up if i just have to keep the emporer in it haha that is my fav fish by the way....also i do not plan on getting these fish as adults they all will be the smallest i can get them if i can if not just 2 to 3inch juvys ya no
