stocking a 150

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dimensions are 60 by 24 by 24... yeah i know the turtle will have to go... and i think getting rid of the plecos and turlte and getting a nice school of somthing would look good

i must agree with every one else who replied... the turtle may not be the best choice. but how about a pacu or a butterfly peacock cichlid?:)

hello, i recently aquired a 150 gallon aquarium for $300, awesome deal came with stand, lights, fluvals, heaters spare filters everything...

i transfered all the fish from my 90 into it

current stock list is
1 albino oscar (about 9 inches)
2 polypterus senegalus (about 6 inches each)
1 florida softshell turtle (small)
3 albino clarias catfish (about 2 inches) probably keep 1 maybe 2
1 common pleco
1 sailfin pleco

tank still needs somthing, any suggestions?
I'm afraid your tank is fully stocked at the moment without even considering the adult size. I'd rehome the clarias and remove one of the two plecos to pave the floor space for the bichirs. Focus on top and mid dwellers. How about a fei feng or Distichodus sexfasciatus? Don't add though until you sort out your stocks.

i think another poly or two could go in.
pair severums and some dollars would probably look pretty good.
aslong as your oscar isn't that aggressive.
probably a big softy though lol.
your pretty stocked as it is, if you have the filtration i think you could get away with it all though.
that softshells gonna be picking off fish though eventually.

I think that you can re-aquascape it,and then get 5 silver dollars, and some more cichlids like Severums,or Convicts.

thanks for all the suggestions, yeah i moved the turtle to the 90 gallon with a mississippi map turtle and in the the process of finding a home for the plecos.

picked up a school of 6 silver dollars, and got some big pieces of drift wood curing right now and some more sand... will look good when all done!
