Stocking a 180g

+1 on the chalceus suggestion. Great top water fish. I got mine at 3" and he's maxed out at around 9-10". Loves worms and is lightning fast to get them when I throw them in. Stunning big silvery brassy scales, very large eyes, yellow pelvic fins and of course it's very large red caudal fin. A good lid is a must, they are jumpers if given the chance. Only downside for me is that they can be a bit skittish.

Awesome ,Thanks for the info. How is the aggressiveness?

Mine is not aggressive in the least to other fish. Never seen him so much as nip a fin. Ive heard they can terrorize each other bad if you have a group though.

Mine was very skittish in my hex tank, but has really mellowed out since moving to the somewhat larger 36x24 tank. But tight fitting lids are necessary.

He probably gets the most compliments of any of my fish from guests and whatnot. The big scales really shimmer with a rainbow of colors.

It's looking like it might end up only being 1 Male severum due to one being way to aggressive he will most likely be getting his own tank.

so the stock would be

7 Geos Tapajos
1 severum
1 EBA
8 Congo Tetras
6 Bosemani Rainbows
6 Yoyos

What are your thoughts on either Uaru or Bandit Cichlids? which is better and if so would 2 Uaru be to much for this stock?

I am still looking around for a chalceus but having a very hard time finding one , since I live in Canada no one ships to us.
