Stocking a 240Gal tank ? . . .

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Agreed, I'd leave out RD's and guapotes if the intention is a relatively peaceful community of big cichlids. Pearsei are a good option

I agree, no devil, no jag. The uaru, pearsei and psitticus ideas are pretty good. A dat would compliment those guys too. Maybe larger geos.

OK then No Red Devil for me , or Jag' , :( and i dont think i could put the Red Devil in a 120Gal tank or Jag for life , could i ?

Would i be ok with Putting a Green Severum in the tank ?

I am going to taday to my LFS so i sort of need the help today the only fish i can think of , off the top of my head is the Green Severum which is up at my LFS that i like and that should be ok in the tank .

If they have any Uaru's could i get one of them or more ?

You can but not where other tankmates are concerned.

Thanks alot , you one big helpful person , i really want the Red Devil but i dont want just one fish in a tank the size of 120Gal as i think it will look empty and sill , so i think i will just forget that . and if it's still there i am deffently go to get the Green Severum and there is a tank full of 2.5/ 3inch Blue Acara and stick it in the grow out tank with my tiny Gold Severum to get about 4 - 6inch before i put it in the main tank with all the others .

I think the black belt will get a little picky at times but for the most part they are peaceful. I had one once and it wouldn't leave my Gold Saum alone so I had to part ways with it. The Acara is a nice choice also. I would have gone for the severum instead of the BB, but I don't forsee you having any problems with that mixture.

the black belt may turn out to be aggressive, depends on the individual fish. acaras are usually good choices since most species are pretty laid back

Yep thanks i really wanted the Green Severum and was going to get it but i was sold , i got told it went yesterday .

So far the Black Belt Cichlid has been ok for now they have both been in the tank for about 2 hours , a little bit of pushing about with the others in the tank but nothing more than that . I was told too that he could get a little aggresive but as long as the other fish are are the same size and not much smaler than him he should be fine in the tank .

it could very much work. I've seen most people say they are pretty aggressive, but I recall some sources, like Dick Stratton state that they are gentle giants among CA cichlids
