I should have my 270 gallon tank up and running this weekend. The dimension of tank is 92X24X30. I have 300 gallon wet dry filter and mag drive 24 pump for now. I plan on getting FX5 in the near future. I'm going with pool filter sand for the subsrtate. I like SA Cichlid. What would you do if you have this setup.

Hey tanboy! I moved this thread over the CA/SA cichlid section as there are some very knowledgable folks in this area happy to help with stocking. You will likely get many more responses here. ;)

I am very partial to eartheaters for SA cichlids but with a tank that size you have many options. Let's hear em guys!

Personally, I'd think of big fish. Well, that's where my heart is. Since you have such a large tank, you can do almost anything.

Are you looking for aggression or calm? What kinds of colors? Single species or community? Do you want a true biotope or does that matter?

Full SA:

1 Arowana
1 Oscar
A school of silver dollars
A pair of Acarichthys heckelii
A pair of Severums
A pair of Geo surinamensis

If you wanted to go for smaller fish I would say, Geos, Clown Loaches, and a few Discus, those would look cool with a natural looking tank.

If you wanted larger Monster Fish I would Go with Arrowana and definetly throw in some PBass in a tank that big for sure! :D

Maybe a school of Discus and a couple of stingrays if you have the money! That would look awesome.

wait a sec... you have a 300g sump running a 270g tank!?!?!? i want to see that!

School of dicus or gymnos, a group of dwarf cichlids, keyholes,, some corys, and tetras, some rare plecos.
