Hi, everyone.

I have recently acquired a 32.5"L x 17"D x 19.5"H, advertised as a 40 Gallon High. I was wondering, am I able to keep cichlids in this tank? The nearby LFS sells Firemouths, Blue Acaras, Gold Saum, JDs, Severums, Rainbow Cichlids, and Black Belt Cichlids. Are any of these suitable for a tank of this size?

Ones I am very interested in are the Acaras, Gold Saum, Severums, Black Belts, and Rainbows. Will any of these be suitable for this tank?

Thanks.

It would appear I cannot edit my first post, but I thought I should add: They also sell Texas Cichlids, Threadfin Acara, Jaguar Cichlids, Blood Parrots, Red Hump Eartheater, Geophagus brasilliensis, Pike Cichlid, and Vieja argentea.

gold saum or rainbow or firemouth will be fine

Thanks.

The severum and black belts get too big for a 40gallon

Loves Severums: So all of the fish I mentioned in the two posts are okay, except for the Severums and the Black Belts?

to all those who suggested Rainbows: Will males fight with each other?

I would get 6 firemouth and let them pair up.. there cool to watch raise fry...
