yea, manuelli works too, just have to be careful with it since manuelli doesnt' handle stress very well and can just drop dead on you if too much stress from water parameter or other factors. not to discourage you but just gotta be careful.

I just thought that a single mannie in a 400g would develop nicely due to the pronounced lack of stress.

I agree with a single fish in a 400g the water parameter would be fairly stable but you never know what water company will add into the water, better be careful then sorry when it comes to such a sensitive fish. since he'll setup a drip system I would hope he'll also run R/O on the new water to make sure it's clean and safe.
and with such nice setup, he may be taking lots of pics (I know I would). not sure how manny handles the stress from the flashlight :)

i would say a shoal of 12 P. Caribe or if you could like 7 S. Geryi.
or if you can get that huge S. Manueli on youtube

nah if i do the P's it'll be a shoal of pygo's, would love to get some piraya's. right now 400g is just too much to dedicate to one fish. can reds and pirayas be mixed?

whithin the next couple weeks i will start on redoing the 400. it'll take some time though, too many projects at once.

all pygo's can be mixed. a 400 gal long would be better for a shoal they rarely swim up and down so length is more important. for that matter i would get a blue diamond rhom and watch him grow to a blue monster

if you can make it 5' L x4' W x 31" H then I think a shoal would be fine. I'd say start with maybe 2 dozen caribes or 1 dozen pirayas as you may have casualty as the grow. any pygo can be mixed with other pygo species so you can throw in some cheap rbps as ditcher but they may gang up and kill one or two of your caribes or pirayas as aggression is all based on the individual fish itself.

I was thinking getting a shoal of caribes myself in my 4'x4'x21" before but they weren't in season and then I fall in love with the blue diamond rhom.

keep us posted on as the project goes. GL

I still say that tank was meant for caribes. They have the exact same tank at one of my LFS. It's actually not for sale though, they have live rock and some marine stuff in it. Waste of a cool tank if you ask me. I wonder if they'd sell it to me cheap...
