Mumtron: Today at the LFS i saw a red terror about 2.5-3". It wasn't very colorfull though.

festaes along w/ other big ca/sa cichlids look best when they're larger. they start to look incredible after 4 to 5". Pictures and videos can't do justice unless they were taken by a HIGH DEF camera. Also, fish in LFS are usually stressed and not at their peak. Bitter is right. Festaes are commonly mixed w/ mayans and mayans are nothing compared to festae's when full grown. After all, you could've seen a mayan or a stressed out festae.

He was only like $6.98 and i also want a little group of silver dollars. like 3 or so.

For a 55gal for life, I would stick with the smaller cichlids, like Jack Dempseys, convicts, firemouths and similar. Make sure you have good filtration and frequent water changes. Depending on the type of silver dollar you purchase, they can get big (6-8"), so plan for it.

Rite now i have a Aqua Clear 50, and a Marineland H.O.T Magnum.

And they silver dollars arent a must
