Hi, well i have a 55 gallon with oscars, convicts, jds, and red eared slider water turtles (2-4 inch, don't worry they were raised with fish n won't eat them). I want to get rid of the oscars (sell) b/c they are getting too big. What fish would you recommend for a 55 with my current stocking except for the oscars? Don't worry if they grow big because i will be upgrading just before Christmas.

Tank maintenance schedule? Filtration?

Exact current stock list would help immensely.

How long have your turtles been raised with fish?

Ops sorry, I do a 25% water change every Sunday, it is filtered by a Fluval 304 and a wet dry sump running @ 1300 gph so you might say is over filtrated and water is perfect. PH is @ 7.5 exactly and can be modified as i am using crushed coral for ph. no ammonia. I have 2 pink convict cichlids(mating but have a spare ten gallon for them), 2 jds, 2 red devils. I have sand substrate. O and 3 turtles raging from 2-3 inches and are fish friendly!

i say just keep one jd and the con pair maybe get away with both jd but ehhh

I would keep the 2 jd in the 55g. Put the cons in the 10g, i would upgrade the 10g to a 20g however. And then get rid of the red devils if you can not get them a larger tank.

Your sliders are going to grow quite large; the size of a dinner plate, at least, and will be very cramped in this space. Also, how do you provide the basking area for them if the tank is full of water? They should be able to get out of the water to bask under lamps, and then return to the the water to cool off. For this reason, also, they're not a great idea in this situation -- your fish need heated water, and the sliders would enjoy room-temperature water in order to cool off.

I know this, i mentioned above that i will be upgrading to a 125 or 150 before December. And i have a basking area it is all the way at the top but i have build a wood frame so they can't escape, i am providing them with uvb and uva. And both the fish and the turtles share the same temperature which is 78 F which is both perfect for the turtles and fish. I did my research :)

But my JDs are small right know and is i mentioned above i am upgrading soon. All fish are 5 inches and smaller only 1 jd is 5 inches and all other fish are under 4. SO i will keep them there temporarly but i want to put more fish that can be there for a while.
