stocking a 55g

In a 55 that is 12" wide with decor, a single specimen could have trouble maneuvering not to mention a pair. And water changes would have to be done quite often. Thats how I was looking at it

You can get an odd shaped 55g... I saw one that was 48"x15x16 or so... short and fat, little less verticle room but, it has closer to the footprint of a 75g.


Also... its more about the footprint then the Gallons of the tank. A 75g Standard and 90g standard are about the same, they key difference is the 90 has more versicle space. And while that space isn't "Wasted" its not nearly as used as the bottom or lower levels of the tank.


Personally, if I could make a tank to spec for a large FH / RD / Midas, id want a 48lx22wx20t
