Stocking a freshwater 76 (aggresive)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
a flowerhorn sounds cool, but im leaning towards the oscars, exodons, geophagus's and the other shoal ideas. im not quite sure about the eartheaters/geophagus because i dont have a ton of floor space in the tank. once again the dimensions are 32 inches long, 23 deep and 25 tall which is 76 gallons. oh and earlier when i said "45 minutes away from school" i meant work. my university is 90 minutes away lol

OSCARS NEED MORE THAN 32'' of horizontal swimming SPACE. That is a bad idea to have a 13 inch fish with less than 3 body lengths to swim. Sure it can cruise up and down, and has enough space to turn around, but my old 29 gallon is 32 inch and that is very short for an O. Trust me I owned an oscar they need a bit of room.

76 gallons is a large volume but that tank is obviously meant for smaller fishes. It is perfect dimensions for planted. People prefer deep and tall tanks for that purpose. Firemouth might not demolish plants but they are aggressive. I think exodons is best. Make it planted and plan out your aquascape beforehand.

Some cool shoalers are In MY Opinion:

Rosy barb
African glass catfish
Salmon Red rainbowfish

AND none of them are too small.

ya thats what i thought...:(but ya i guess rainbow fish would be ok... im pretty sure im going to go with exodons:naughty: either that or some other shoaler:confused:
