Stocking a MONSTER tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ooooooooo :grinno: jardini sounds really tempting. this is the planned community tank. all will be purchased and introduced to each other as babies. ornate bichir, african pike, jardini arowana (maybe im not 100% sure). somebody please reccommend some fish that could hold its own in a tank wit these fish! remember final upgraded tank will be a 150-200.
not sure about the african pike, i think the jardini would kill it. They were not introduced in there as babies. The jardini is about 14 inches, the baramundi is about 10 inches, the dat is about 10 inches, and the chinese perch is about 8 inches. Got a goldy pleco about 8 inches. The jardini was very aggressive against the redlines i have so i had to separate it and mixed it with my perch. They like each other, very peacful, and the jardini complements the other fish in the tank. got lucky i guess :)

ok, so i came to a decision. all fish will start out small and equally sized
1) black ghost knife
2) african pike
3) ornate bichir
4) any unusual medium sized catfish that i can find either at rarefish or my other lfs.
so my question is, can this community live in peace? :headbang2 thanks

I have been reading alot about bichir with the desire to add it to my mixed tank. The main thing that concerns me is that everywhere keeps reminding me that it will anything that will fit in it mouth. Does anyone know how accurate this is?

4 in african knife
6 in Pleco
3 inch cat... (forgot the name... starts out goldish and black stiped and turns white and black)
2) Tapoles

A few feeder guppies as well as about 10 striped danios from the original tank cycling.

Soon to be adding African cichlids.
