Stocking advice for aggressive tank

yep, if you are going the convict jd and pictus route then you should do sand, the jd and oscar will dig, and pictus tend to get shorter whiskers on gravel. i would personally do a tank that is wide and long as was posted earlier, that way cleaning and vacuuming is not such a pita. also set up decor to divide the tank into like 5-7 "sectors" so the fish will not fight as much over teritory.

i would add a synodontis they are pretty cool to watch. pictus are nice too. jack dempsey is a good idea but you can also add some firemouths green terrors can be docile sometimes but when they pair up they dominate a tank. nobody ever really bothers oscars. but a 150 is a good size tank. you can keep two pairs and maybe one large show fish. if it were me that fish would be an oscar since they can hold their own. whatever you do stay away from red devils they are the most aggressive fish I have ever seen in action. good luck.. south american fish can be very rewarding.. add some drift wood and rock work to make it look interesting.
