Stocking Advice

Hey guys!

Im considering adding a new fish to my new tank! Its a 40G with 5 Tiger Barbs and a Red Tailed Shark. I think I want a cichlid next but which one you think?

Im considering a convict among others... suggestions would be great!!!

I think cons are best given the tank size could try a ram also, I wouldn't try a JD in a 40G might work short term but when it grows a bit I would think a 40G would be to small I am not very familiar with JDs but so could be wrong!

Jd prob will outgrow, things like maybe jewels or something will work. There are a lot of options, careful because a lot of them will terrorize ur shark

Very untrue. Sharks can be very aggressive themselves. I have one in each of my Cichlid tanks. Each tank has Cichlids as large as 10"+. The sharks are great workers, and they are very quick.

Cryptoheros sajica, Herotilapia multispinosa, thorichthys ellioti. They stay small. Beautiful species, Not too aggressive but they can hold up against the Red Tailed shark.
