When you get this new tank what kind of filter are you going to do. I think you could do more than what people on here think. I had a breeding colony with about 14fish from. 6-10inch in size in a 120. I was running a wet dry sump. Which proably added 20gal of water. Water changes 25-50% weekly

I would probably turn my 140 into a sump. And still run my fx5 or 2. When I do make my sump it's going to be very simple but affective some people go way to crazy and yeah I like simple lol!

do 20-30 rbps if you want, especially at 1". as long as you don't over feed them throughout the year you should have a nice size shoal when your big tank is ready.
personally I would wait until summer time to get some baby cariba instead or rbp but that's just me.

I'm trying to track down caribas right now! I'm not going to settle for rbp! So I don't know how long I'll have to wait but I'm going to wait!

any cariba now will be too big and expensive, if you want baby cariba then you have to wait for 5-6 months, usually around May/June that's when vendors start to get baby cariba in.
 
It depends on your supplier, here vendors typically mark them at about $20-$25 USD each but you can probably workout a better deal if purchase in bulk.
I know I got an excellent deal when I got my 50.
