So this coming Spring, my uncle and I are going to build a 6'x3'x2' tank. This roughly equals out to just a fraction less than 270g (like 269.66, or something close). I want to prepare beforehand as I am very excited to finally get something bigger than a 55g. :D I already have two of the fish that will be going in, which are a 4" Red Blood Parrot, and a 6.5" Cyano. What else would you guys recommend putting in? I would like something that will get to be a big size. Maybe a Managuense or Dovii. What would you suggest?

You could put your JD and your random Con in there and then maybe, Green Terror, Jag, Synspila, Plec, few other Cichlids, just avoid pairs :)

The JD will be gone by this week to another keeper in the area. Plus the con is only 1", so I don't see her being anything less than food to a bigger fish.

All are certainly worthy candidates. Definitely liking the Bocourti idea.

Thats a pretty awesome sized tank. You can definantly stock it up. A tank that size, I would have to go with some rays on the bottom and calmer cichlids.

I would so get some rays if they weren't so damn expensive. I'd like to stay around $50 for a fish, which is still a very big range to work with when buying smaller fish. I think I do want something a bit more on the calm, open swimming type. Something that will explore the tank without having to destroy everything in its path. But the other side of me wants a glass-banger. :D

i suggest a oscar. they get huge and are beautiful. i tend to like the tiger and the albino tiger oscars, i don't really care for the look of the red oscars. also a bass, they are very pretty and eat fish when they get around the size of 3 inches, same with the oscars. but i will warn you, the oscars require ALOT of cleaning, they are very dirty but well worth it
