but seriously they have a tank setup like this at my LFS and it looks AMAZING! i would highly suggest it.
 
hmmmmm I just don't know. So you think the Tex might work?


I just really don't know right now. I'm seriously all over the place with what I want to put in it. lol

I've also considered a single Front. I've been wanting one for a long long time.

actually the more I think about this the more I like it. Kind of a combo on medium size fish and small fish. :)

I have peacocks mixed with the p. taeniolatus (red empress) in my 55 and have no problems at all. The only problem is that the juvies have no color at all and the adults are expensive. Mbunas are colorful from the start but are much more aggressive

Are the Red Empress easy to keep? By easy I mean as easy as JD's and GT's? WOuld love to get some Africans down the road
 
I think they are very easy to keep. I don't do anything different for them than my new world cichlids. I have 2 and one is still silver and black and the other is just starting to turn. It is very interesting watching a silver fish get blue in the face and red on the body. Of course if you end up with a female, then it just stays silver and black.
 
k, right now I'm pretty stoked about Discus, cardinals etc.....

Question is how many discus and hoe many cardinals? then some bottom feeders.......Corys were suggested. Any other suggestions? If not how many Corys?


Anything else? Angels? Rams(love em), anything?

I've kept German Blue Rams and they're very cool, but seems like the bigger fish would "fill" your tank more. Little Rams might get lost in a big tank like that. They are VERY picky about their water too but from what I hear Discus are more finicky. Discus are spectacular looking fish tho

Discus won't eat the little tetras?

Almost forgot: YOYO loaches are GREAT cleaners too but they might chase your cory cats around. They will wipe out any snails you get too (usually from the plants) and do well in small groups three would probably work really well. They especially like little nooks and crannies in driftwood and rocks. You'll be surprised where they'll go. I even had one get stuck this fall and had to help him for 5 minutes to get out.
