Hello, I have posted about my 127 gallon pond ( 47"x31"x19") a few month ago. That same pond is now towards the end of the cycling with a diy bucket filter above the water with 2 600W heaters for a stable 25.5°C and i think about having a fire eel in there with 2 or 3 rope fishes.

There are also mystery snails ( which i guess need hiding ) in there but like I know that some people here do not recommend bichirs because they're too hungry but what about smaller species like the moke bichir? If not i can add anything else? They're all starting at a minimum of 8".

I have no birchirs so I can’t help there, but I do have an Aussie lungfish, 5 geo red head topajos and 23 x 3-8” clown loaches in with my 27” fire eel.
Your pond is too small for a lungfish long term for sure as they grow to 24”+ in the first 2-3 years.
Also, is your light dimmable? I ask cause the brightness of it will stress your eel as they like caves and low light environments.
Looks like the hose delivering water to the top of Your bucket filter is kinked off. Fluval sells hose guides that should help mitigate the kink.
All the best 🤙🏼

The light is indeed dimmable so i will lower it down when i get the fishes and the tube is doing just fine even if kinked off, but yeah definitely not a lungfish but still thanks for your insights. I will look into the Red Head Tapajos even if i doubt it have enough space for them.

Cool mate. The red heads topajos max out at around 7-8”. A 47”x31” footprint would be plenty big enough for a group of 5 or so if you like them 🤙🏼
