My son was just gifted a pair of angel fish from his grandmother. They are in his 29 gallon tank. He would like some corys but how many would work? He also has 5 cherry barbs, 5 Kuhli loaches and some cherry shrimp in his tank. I'm not worried about the shrimp being eaten.

It would depend on the type of Cory cat you want. There are dwarves or regular cories. I'd say you could get away with 4 regulars or 8 dwarves.

I would be a little more worried about the pair of angels. Unless they chose each other, you could have some aggression issues there.

I think you could do 5 of the dwarf cory species. Look at Pygmy cory (Corydoras pygmaeus) or Dwarf cory (Corydoras hastatus). Both of these fish are more sensitive than your average cory and need a mature setup.

The angels are a breeding pair who aren't very good parents. They show no aggression towards each other at all. I'll look into the dwarf and pygmy corys, thank you :)
