Im going to be getting a new tank soon! My first "large" tank between 125 and 180 gallons, depending on what comes down the line on craigslist. I can't decide on how to stock it.

I don't want a community tank, I would like a tank with larger fish. My two main ideas are oscars or an arowana. I was also looking at a gulper cat tank but there seems to be no compatible tankmakes with those monsters. I do tend to like "odd" or unusual fish as well, something unique. Bass would also be cool and unique but I don't know how to source them. This has to be the hardest part of the setup process! So any ideas? thanks everyone!

well right now i have 3 baby pbass in there about 2 inchs each i would do that idea and maby baby silver arrow but in the futur would will need a big tanks if you you plan on kepping them. but it is up to you what fish do you really want to put in there

Are you looking at getting fish that will be able to stay in this tank permanently? If so, arowanas are out. Oscars are really common, but I just got my first one earlier this year and he's one of my favorite for I've ever kept. I'd go with a couple oscars.

I would go with a puffer i love thoses guys with that size tank you can get one the bigger ones here is a good site to learn about them http://www.**************.com

you can go with a native tank, with some pickerel, bass, big blue gill, start with a bigger blue gill then bass then introduce the pickerel would not cost that much to stock really.

or can go with some gt.and some oscars, jd couple catfish to many species to mention, and a pleco .

can do some bichirs maybe one of the dwarf gars

can go clown loaches afew tinfoil barbs

it would be easier for us to help you if you find some good lfs's online and look at their fish and make a list of what fish you like and then come back here make anew post and type the list of fish that you liked and then we can help you by telling you hat can go with other fish and how many ..alot easier lol
