If you want to breed them that would be ideal. Since females will outgrown a 3' wide eventually.

man i cant decide between silver or leichardi aro, the silver is gonna cost me $300 and the lei $80, but money isn't the big factor, im just scared of the silver getting severe DE, i actually don't mind silvers with "slight" DE, if i was to do everything correct ie no feeders, no bare bottom, not bright lights, ping pongs balls / floating plants, variety diet, pristine water conditions and i think my tank is bigger then the average 240 people use so maybe would limit the jumping, really what are the chances of severe DE?

Personally I've always favored the Australian Arowana species over the South Americans so I say get a lei or two and you won't have to be bothered with worrying about drop eye.

lei's are known of better working in community's over jar's yea? and what size would it grow in my tank? i heard they can reach 3ft?

Where are you finding silver aros at that price?

Don't think they get that big.
Think they too out at mid 20".
Someone correct me if I'm wrong

Jars tend to look a bit nicer.
And it's real hit and miss.
Seen a few together in a tank before, not sure if it lasted long tho.
Mines in with a heap of other smaller fish and has been for 3 years, but no other aros

Yea Jardinis do look nicer imo, and there's a guy who's about to start breed them.
