Stocking ideas for 65 gallon

With only 36" in length I wouldn't recommend peacocks unless you do a single breeding group, 1m/4-5f, of a less aggressive peacock.

What kind would you recommend?

Dimensions are 36x18x24. Looking for stocking ideas. Filtration is a 29 gallon sump and I'm fine going on the higher end of the bio load. Any ideas on what I should put in it? Not interested in any kind of puffer or nano fish. Would prefer something that doesn't need a ton of plants because i want few if any plants in there.

Could go for a mini oddball/predator tank
X1 rainbow Wolffish
X2 dwarf pangasius
X1 pike characin
X1 green/blue phantom pleco
X1 peacock eel
X1 butterfly fish

go with a school of arilus or mascara barbs with a bristlenose pleco

Have you already purchased the tank?

I only ask because I have a 65 also, and it puts a limit on what you can put in there vs. a 75. Only 10 gallons difference but the 3 ft. vs 4 vt. footprint makes a big difference.

There are options of course if you already have the 65.
