Stocking ideas for 80 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
One more colorful snake is the Channa bleheri, much nicer looking than brunna. Not as good as the gold cobra one though.

another few alternatives are the gudgeons from australia, looks EXACTLY like snakeheads but much much much more colorful.

Hi again,
the tank is 48x20x20 inches and the goby looks nice, but I never saw it be available.
Channa bleheri hardly reach 8 inches of length, with 6-7 are more common.
And I don't want a pair, just a single fish.
But thanks!

By the dimensions it should be good for a snakehead. Not sure how important height is for them though.

Hey, I really found a snakehead gudgeon for sale.
Very pricy and about 6 inches long, for 170€...about 200$.
Does anybody know about growth rate and final size.
I have read up to 9 inches, as well as 14.
Do they learn to eat pellets?

I would go for it:
Link about them:
From my (limited) experience with gobies, they prefer live or frozen foods, but can be adapted to prepared. Probably easier to feed than a snakehead.
I would assume 11 inches full grown, and should hit that within a year.
Not much info out there, sorry.
I would research general sleeper gobies, since these are one, care shouldn’t be too far off.
Hope that helps.
Good luck!

Wow, thank you all so much I am into that hobby for years now and these gobies are new to me.
I am not sure what to purchase, and there are wild caught ones only, which I have always refused.
The goby has many pros, like no brumation period needed and there might be a tankmate or two.
Plus they should not try to eat my fingers when I am cleaning the tank.
And yes, 10 inches ( if that is the true max size) are far more suitable than 14-16 for a tank that size.
Have a nice day!
