Stocking Ideas for a 125 Gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, I believe them to be male and female, I bought them to grow out in a 55 Gallon until the 125 is setup next month. They're about an 1-1.5" right now, when the 125 is up and running (depending on the tank mates) I will add them last.

Alright, I have decided to try a Red Terror. I am doing this because I will have a spare 55 Gallon tank incase the fights get too heated and I can always sell the RT on my local fish club forums.

With that in mind, should I get the RT now and put it with the small GTs in the 55g? I know with the more aggressive cichlids that its better if the tank grows up together.

My 125g is scheduled to be delivered on August 24th, I am already seeding the filters for it now so I can get it up and running in a short amount of time after it's delivered.

I am getting a new 125 Gallon tank in August and I need some help with some stocking ideas.

I currently have two Green Terrors that are going into this tank, male and a female. With that in mind here are a list of fish that I would enjoy/like to keep so could use some help picking tank mates, if there are some cool fish that would go well with GTs that aren't on the list please feel free to post them. I'm trying to find a good mix of color for the tank.

Lemon Oscar
Red Severum
Gold Severum
Jack Dempsey
Electric Blue Jack Dempsey
Cuban
Super Red Texas
Red Terror (Amphilophus festae)
Motagua Cichlid

Again - I don't plan on keeping everything I listed in a 125 Gallon, this is just a list of colorations that I like. I am trying to match a stocking list to go with the Green Terrors.

Not a bad list the only ones that may be too aggressive are the Super Red Texas, Mota, and the Festae. Though I also think EBJD are on the delicate size. Other than that the others would look great with your GT!
