Stocking ideas for a 20g

What about Long-Finned Bubble Ram with the stuff to lower ph
 
If you are going to do a ram, do a Bolivian, or at least a normal ram. Every extra line bred mutation tacked on just makes the fish weaker.
 
Bolivian are hardier, but a German should be okay - just be sure to do a lot of research.
 
Update: we are now working with a 55 gallon bowfront so any stocking Ideas for that

any canister filters That aren’t too expensive that will work well?
 
Most canisters will be pretty expensive - but for that size the price is worth it. I like the marineland ones - marineland magniflow 220 would be good for that size tank. They aren’t super good at aerating the tank, so it wouldn’t hurt to add an airstone or powerhead to help add surface agitation.
For stocking, if they liked the ram idea, rainbow cichlids, blue acara, OR convicts are an option along with dithers and a bottom feeder like a bristlenose pleco. They are all attractive, thrive in your natural water, and are pretty easy to keep.

Not me with a marineland 360 on a 29 gallon….. I’ve had a bit of trouble with the marinland filters, I could never get them to start, then I realized the bio balls might have been clogging up the intake so I put those in a bag, still didn’t work then I had the random idea to turn it on it’s side (flat on the ground) then it started working ( I pumped it for a very very long time when trying to set it up) since then I’ve had good experience with the filter, it’s quiet, and works well, I also added a another filter cutout in it, I’ll a lookout for a marineland 220/360 but I’ve also had good experience with the cascade canister filters which are around the same price ( i got my 360 on sale for 100$ at Petco)

What about Aqueon QuietFlow Canister Filter 300
 
I have no experience with them, quick search shows mixed reviews.
