Stocking ideas for a 4'x24"x24" 120 gallon

they are smaller but have you considered a bunch of ram cichlids? Bolivian reds, German blues, gold rams, and electric blue rams? around 5 of each would look amazing
Rams are beautiful, but I'm looking for something more robust and bigger. I have a grow out tank full of discus, and they're headache enough for me right now.

I had a small spot Polleni for over 2yrs with a bunch of africans in a 6' tank & he was the showpiece, absolute stunner, but in the end i got rid of him because he got grumpy & terrorized all my africans. He didn't kill anyone but he had them constantly bailed up one end of the tank.
I always regretted getting rid of him & not the Africans.
As far as your tank tank goes a Polleni or GT with a bunch of Spotted Silver$ would be a great setup. If you want a show tank be aware the Polleni will dig & dig where as a GT doesn't tend too dig much at all. Can't go wrong either way. Rams r nice fish too but a bit on the delicate side i think.
GT = green terror, yes? They're gorgeous fish, but apparently they're slow growers?

I've never kept a GT, but from what I've heard they grow pretty fast? If you're looking for something with personality, pike cichlids are cool, and I also really enjoy West Africans, my nanochromis have a ton of spunk. They're probably smaller than what you're looking for, though

Slow growers but worth the wait. Besides the obvious good looks they are always active, have good personality, will attack you at the glass but won't bite if you put your hand in the tank. I recommend you get a few of them & let them grow out to sort the wheat from the chaff as their are a lot of low grade ones from what i can tell, the colours are fine on most but body or head shape is all wrong. Of course this is just my opinion so take with a grain of salt : )

Green terrors are notoriously slow growers. Some people say they reach 16" but I've personally never seen one over 10".

Iv'e seen one about 12" but would expect most to top out around 10". Another thing that might be worth mentioning is they will never look vibrant unless they are the tank boss & for the most part they fit that role perfectly as they really aren't as tough as they make out, hence , attack the glass but won't bite you when your hand is in the tank. They're just pretty boys compared to jags etc.

I would do a South American community. In that tank size I would want a pair of Rotkiel severums, a super red, some a. Heckelii and maybe a green terror as a centerpiece fish. Don't go crazy with the numbers of severums they get kinda big.
